R1500 Cement Additive |
Introduction R1500 is a single part modified styrene butadiene liquid additive for cement mortars which enhances physical and chemical properties, allows mortars to be placed in thin section, provides waterproofing and resistance to frost and promotes adhesion to building surface. Mortars containing R1500 are used for a wide range of applications where high strength and good performance mortars are required. R1500 is supplied as single component in white liquid. According to its specified use within mortars it is diluted with water and added to cement, sand (and aggregate) mixture to provide the required performance characteristics. As a priming or bonding coat, it is mixed with cement only to provide adhesion between substrate and mortar. Application
|
Mixing Mortars containing R1500 is used exactly as conventional mortar mixes. R1500 does not act as an accelerator or retarder. In warm conditions R1500 modified mortars my achieve a false set on the surface as a result of the polymer film drying. Reworking the mortars without the use of extra liquid will overcome this. It can be used in most weather conditions and in a wide temperature range, from +30C to 250C. At high ambient temperature the working time will reduce. Advantages
R1500 should be stored in dry warehouse conditions away from direct heat and sunlight. Shelf life is approximately 12 months in unopened containers. Packing In 5kg |
General Application of R1500 Cement Additive (For reference only and depending actual site condition)
Cement Slurry(Cement/R1500)
Suitable for window sill, skirting, wall and slightly water seepage areas. The substrate should be firm and sound for adherence of the cement slurry. After application by brush or trowel, reinstatement of finishing is as usual.
Cement Mortar(Cement/Sand/R1500)
Suitable for the floor of bathroom, balcony, drainage hole, water tank, basement and V-cutting on cracks as general application of waterproofing rendering. Specification3:1 aggregate/R1500cement | 3:1 aggregate/R1500cement | |||
